Specialists in heritage building restoration
Experience built on trust. Quality built to last.
Established in 2003, Hawk Group is an independent building, refurbishment and shopfitting company with a strong reputation for heritage conservation, commercial refurbishment and complex building projects across the South East of England.
We combine decades of construction experience with a practical, hands-on approach to project management. From the sensitive restoration of historic buildings to commercial alterations and refurbishment, we bring together the right people, specialist skills and experience to deliver projects with care and attention to detail.
As a privately owned business, Hawk is managed by three working directors who remain actively involved in the day-to-day running of the company. Our clients benefit from direct access to the people making decisions, clear communication and a personal approach throughout every stage of a project.
A history of building expertise
Since
2003
Hawk's story began in 2003, when Jamie Simmons established Hawk Property Services Ltd. In 2005, Scott Lawrence formed Hawk Shopfitters Ltd, bringing a dedicated commercial and shopfitting specialism to the business.
"Starting Hawk was about building a business on good workmanship, trust and strong relationships. Those values have stayed with us from the early days and continue to shape how we work today."
Scott Lawrence, Director
The two companies merged in 2007 to form Hawk Builders and Shopfitters Ltd, combining their expertise under one roof. Wayne Marley joined as co-owner and director in 2016, and the three directors continue to lead the business today.
This history has shaped the company we are now: a multi-disciplinary building contractor with experience spanning heritage conservation, commercial refurbishment, retail and shopfitting.
Specialists in heritage and conservation
Working with historic and listed properties requires a considered approach. Existing buildings can present unexpected structural challenges, complex repair requirements and practical considerations around how a building is occupied and used.
Our experience enables us to adapt to the individual demands of each project, working collaboratively with clients, architects, surveyors and other professionals to find appropriate solutions while respecting the character of the building.
We understand the importance of balancing the preservation of historic fabric with the practical requirements of repair, refurbishment and continued use.
